Let's all congratulate us with another cup of tea,
a very merry unbirthday to you!
March Hare, Alice in Wonderland

When Anna, the Duchess of Bedford, called for bread and tea to sustain her between breakfast and supper one day, little did she know she would start a social trend that would transcend classes and generations.

The ceremony of afternoon tea became a pastime of 19th century aristocracy, where ladies of social standing would be served tiny morsels and prized leaf tea on low tables in their sitting room or garden.

High tea on the other hand, was the more substantial meal eaten by the working class which included meats, cheese, bread, cake, and of course leaf tea.

At Life’s Sweet we have created our own version of this time honoured tradition- Contemporary High Tea.  Using fresh flavour combinations and fine ingredients we have created a range of decadent provisions, perfect to keep on hand so you can enjoy a little something with your own tea ritual.
